VIGON The last Soul Legend in Europe

Big Thanks to Rosario...
Vigon, né à Rabat le , de son vrai nom Abdelghafour Mouhsine, est un chanteur franco-Marocain spécialisé dans le rythm and Blues, apparu dans le milieu des années 60. Il est le père de la chanteuse Sofia Gon's.
In 1960, he came to France during his vacation, and there he discovered the Golf-Drouot and Paris. He settled permanently in Paris in 1964, after having also participated in a radio talent show in 1962 at the Royal Cinema in Rabat. He really started out accompanied by a group from the Courbevoie high school in rehearsals, Les Sylvers Stars, and then sang with the Vigon orchestra and Les Lemons where the future singer Michel Jonasz was on keyboards. He then recorded several albums, notably for Barclay, which only met with critical success. A remarkable "stage animal" with a raspy voice, he provided with his group Les Lemons and then solo the opening acts for Bo Diddley, Stevie Wonder, and Otis Redding at the Olympia in Paris, the Rolling Stones and Johnny Hallyday, but also the beginning David Bowie still playing under the name Davis Jones. He was one of the few Moroccan singers to sign with the Atlantic label in 1968. He also performed in rock music clubs in the capital and in concerts in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands.
